We want to grow vegetables so we can build tree forts and ride motorcycles and make art so we can fly the flags and live in the sunshine.

Beyond that, we’re a family farm. Bob and Jen started the farm from a wooded, hilly, rock-strewn piece of Warner’s Gore in the early 80’s. They were (and still are) loggers, so they followed the old stone walls to figure out where the pastures had been (bigger rocks in the walls) and where the fields had been (smaller rocks in the walls, tossed out of the gardens). Bit by bit they added to their offerings: cordwood, maple syrup, vegetables, and flowers. They had two kids, Abigail and then Sam, and they kept the farm growing.

It’s not easy to fast forward through years of hard work, decisions, changes, and growth, but bear with us as we try. The farm is beautiful and, although not done, seems to be manageable. We have about 6 acres of organic vegetables, a few big hay fields, a small herd of cows, a little bit bigger flock of sheep, the cordwood still heats everything, and the original solar panels from 1980something keep the house lit. Bob and Jen work every day doing what they love, and they’re doing it alongside their son Sam, his partner Sarah, and a beloved farm crew.

We sell most of our produce within 30 miles of our farm. We believe that food can be a lively pillar of our local economy and vote with our dollars and hours to back up that belief.

We’re striving for the flying flags and motorcycles and the sunshine, but also for creating art that looks like tender lettuce, growing even more garlic than last year, and producing the world’s best maple syrup.
